My name is Christy Hugunin and I am the para-educator for kindergarten. In conjunction to my para duties, I am also interning this year as an administrative intern. An integral part of my teaching philosophy is portraying that I am a life-long learner. I have had many experiences teaching different subjects and grade levels. This can be quite a humbling experience and opens your eyes to many new learning possibilities. Every day teaching gives me an opportunity to share my knowledge and learn from others.
I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from Central Missouri State University and am currently working on my master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I have Missouri endorsements in secondary Business Education and Early Childhood Education. I have experience teaching preschool, primary, intermediate, middle school and high school classes. I have had the opportunity to teach in four different states in parochial and public schools.
Currently, I live in the Lee’s Summit area with my husband, Chris; my three children Myranda, Colin and Addison (4
th grade at OLP). In my free time, I enjoy camping with my family, completing home improvement projects with my husband, reading a good novel, and learning how I can improve my teaching practices.
