My name is Amanda Esparza. I joined the OLP staff teaching K-8 General Music in 2014. I have a Bachelors of Music Education from UMKC’s Conservatory of Music and Dance as well as a Masters of Arts in Education from Baker University. I went to St. Thomas More for Grade School and St. Teresa’s Academy for High School. With a long history in Catholic education, it just felt right to teach at a Catholic school in the Diocese. I have spent my entire career teaching music in the Diocese.
We have two children, Giovanni (JoJo) and Annabella (Ella). They are full of energy and keep me on my toes. They currently attend the OLP ECC as well as OLP Grade School. I married my amazingly supportive husband, Uriel Esparza, in November 2018. We bought our first house together in Belton.
I love sharing my knowledge and passion of music with students, as well as sharing my faith. My job is not only fun and exciting, but also a great way for me to continue learning things myself each and every day. I look forward to helping make the Presentation Music Department continue to grow and make a name for ourselves in the Diocese.
