I am excited to be teaching 4th grade for the seventh year at Our Lady of Presentation. This will be my 31st year teaching in the Kansas City Catholic School System. I started my teaching career at Holy Cross School (16 years) in Kansas City, followed by Nativity of Mary School (9 years) in Independence. I have taught first, second, fourth, fifth grades, as well as, middle school.
I attended Central Missouri University and received a Bachelors in Science in Education with a minor in Art. I am certified to teach grades 1-8.
My husband, Joe and I have been married for 31 years. We have three children. Joey (30) married to Mikayla, Sam (28) married to Emily and Charlotte (21).
I am a hometown sports fan, as I am employed by the Kansas City Royals Chariites/ The Hunt Family Fiundation- The Kansas City Chiefs. I am also on the Board of Trustees for the Kansas City Public Library.
I am a third generation teacher. I take pride in my classroom and lessons. I encourage my students to be the best they can be. Each student in my classroom will be different and I want to find out how each one learns. I will provide a safe place for learning and encourage learners to take risks that help them grow and mature. Being creative with the ways I reach young minds makes my classroom an exciting place to be. I will share my faith in God daily with my class and encourage Catholicity in all we do together. I will foster relationships that will last a lifetime!
