My name is Kaye Mount and this is my second year teaching first grade at OLP. This is actually my fourth year at OLP, as I was very blessed to be able to spend my first two years as a para-educator.
Lots of life experiences under my belt, but it all began when I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Avila University. I spent many years with the Lee's Summit R7 School District implementing the Homebound Education Program and working as a Homebound Teacher. Just before coming to OLP, I was a member of the Palliative Care Team at Children's Mercy Hospital. I'm so grateful for all my experiences but feel as if I were placed at OLP for a reason. I am CRAZY excited to be back in the classroom setting, teaching first grade!
I feel as if this is the ultimate time of my life to devote to these little angels at OLP. I have been married for 28 years to my husband Phil and we have two amazing daughters. Emily is entering her senior year of Nursing School at Pittsburg State University. My daughter, Sophie, recently graduated from Notre Dame de Sion and is planning to join her sister at PSU and study Safety/Construction Management. My little ray of sunshine that greets me every morning and evening is Frankie <3, my three year old Cocker Spaniel. Her favorite things in the whole world are fetching balls, getting belly rubs, and swimming! As a family, we love lake life, lounging in the pool, and spending time together.
This is going to be a super fantastic First Grade school year! I will ALWAYS be available to discuss your child and will strive to make their experience in my class nothing short of AMAZINGLY AWESOME.
Love,
Mrs. Mount
