Athletics - Parochial League

MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the athletic program is to provide the opportunity for the youth to grow physically, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually in the image of Christ through the benefits of a positive athletic experience. The athletic program accepts every student/athlete, regardless of physical skill or talent to instill the values of personal improvement, team work, good sportsmanship, and Christian spirit.

To participate, players must attend OLP School or be enrolled and have acceptable attendance in the Children’s Faith Formation program starting at the beginning of the school year at OLP, Holy Spirit, or St. Margaret's. 

Fall Sports

Girls Volleyball
· All girls entering 4th through 8th grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in May and will close prior to school starting in August.
· Practices start the week of school starting and are held in the OLP gym.
· Season ends middle of October.
 
Cross Country
· All boys and girls entering 3rd through 8th grades are eligible to run.
· Registration opens in July and closes the first week of school.
· Practices start week of school starting.
· Season ends middle of October.
 
Flag Football
· All boys entering 1st and 2nd grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in July and closes the first week of school.
 
Tackle Football
· All boys entering 5th through 8th grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in June and closes the end of July.
 

Winter Sports

Girls Basketball
· All girls entering 4th through 8th grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in September and closes Mid-October.
· Player evaluations are held in October.
· Practices begin when teams have been established, typically near the first week of November and season ends the first of March.
 
Boys Basketball
· All boys entering 4th through 8th grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in September and closes Mid October.
· Player evaluations are held in October.
· Practices start the first week of November and season ends the first of March.
 

Spring Sports

Track
· All boys and girls entering 4th through 8th grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in February and closes the end of February.
· Practices start in March with the season ending the first part of May.
 
Boys Volleyball
· All boys entering 5th through 8th grades are eligible to play.
· Registration opens in February and closes the end of February.
· Practices start in March with the season ending the first part of May.
